LA FACE DANSÉE
DE L'AUTRE SOIE

District of l'Autre Soie

Villeurbanne

THE PROJECT

La face dansée de l'Autre Soie is a choreographic course in augmented reality, to be discovered on the site of l'Autre Soie. A journey through space and time, an excursion into a dimension where the Other Silk is inhabited by dance.

Your mission : to reconstruct the danced history of the place.

Thanks to the Revy mobile application, you will be able to create virtual characters in real spaces. These dancers are people who live, have lived, crossed, the place. Dancing guides that take you into the multiple temporal strata of l'Autre Soie.

NARRATION: INVESTED PLACES

Everything starts from the place and the people who live there. La face dansée de l’Autre Soie is the story of a place that keeps in mind the trace of its past inhabitants, and that reveals its inhabitants of the future. A place that carries a hidden dimension in which the bodies and words of those who have crossed it, cross it and will cross it are manifested. La face dansée de l’Autre Soie speaks of the way in which a place and its inhabitants shape each other.

This small piece of territory is shaped by migrations. Young teenage workers of the early 20th century, mainly from Eastern Europe to work for the South-East Silk Factory (SASE, which would later become the TASE, Textile Artificial of the South-East). Migrants from the early 21st century, who arrived here from 2016. They also come largely from Eastern Europe. A first link through time. The inhabitants of the Autre Soie are also those who live there intermittently: the actors and actresses of the place, the neighbours.

The Autre Soie, like many other territories, is built thanks to these people who give it a piece of their culture, their language, their soul.

A project created by the company Corps Au Bord, in collaboration with Reveality and the CCO.

La face dansée de l’Autre Soie was born in 2019 from a desire shared between the company and the CCO : to create on the site of the Autre Soie a choreographic journey in augmented reality in the image of the place in its diversity. An immaterial dance visit that remains in place and in the long term. L'Autre Soie becomes a research laboratory for the implementation of a shared creation process for augmented reality dance.

Each year makes it possible to create new scenes, to look for new writing processes for augmented reality, to write a participatory protocol to integrate different people into the creation, to develop the application that will allow access to this shared creation.
