THE PROJECT
La face dansée des Buers is the first face dansée developed by the company. This course is created as part of an artistic residence of the Corps Au Bord company in the Buers/Croix-Luizet district in 2020 and 2021. Piloted by the City of Villeurbanne and co-financed by the City and the DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, this residence aims to create a participatory work with the inhabitants of this priority neighbourhood in rehabilitation.
La face dansée des Buers is labelled "Villeurbanne 2022, French capital of culture". In this context, the company creates a live performance that offers the public a dance tour of the neighbourhood on April 30 and October 9, 2022. Dancers will guide the audience on a choreographic walk, and will add their physical bodies to the immaterial bodies of the dancing inhabitants. These events are part of the Rize urban walks.
NARRATION: INVESTED PLACES
4 places scattered in the neighbourhood are chosen according to their characteristics and the choreographic scenes they host. Each place reveals different danced characters:
- Stade de la Boube : it is a small neighbourhood stadium where dances related to sports appear: a dance performed by the children of the ACBCL, who worked from movements related to the dances and sports they practice, mainly hip-hop, football.
- Rue Emile Bouvier : this is where the choreographic scenes of the group Vertoï appear. They work on the notion of relationship, contact, which bring softness to this most urban place of the course.
- Square de l'Abbé Borde : it is a square full of corners, where dancers from both primary and middle school groups appear. They work on our multiple identities, danced characters whose different facets seem to be revealed by the place.
- Alexis Jordan Garden : it is a place filled with trees, a forest in the city, which becomes a passage of witchcraft: schoolchildren and the elderly of the EHPAD perform dances of wizards and witches.
