THE PROJECT
La face dansée des Buers (The dancing Side of the Buers) is the first Face dansée developed by the company. The tour was created as part of an artistic residency held by Compagnie Corps Au Bord in the Buers/Croix-Luizet district in 2020 and 2021. Led by the City of Villeurbanne and co-funded by the City and the DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the residency aimed to create a participatory work with the residents of this priority neighbourhood undergoing urban renewal.
La face dansée des Buers was awarded the "Villeurbanne 2022, French Capital of Culture" label. As part of this programme, the company created a live performance offering audiences a dance tour of the district on 30 April and 9 October 2022. Dancers guided the audience on a choreographic walk through Les Buers, their physical bodies overlapping with the immaterial bodies of the dancing residents. These events were part of the urban walks programme of Le Rize.
NARRATIVE: THE LOCATIONS
Four locations scattered across the district were chosen for their distinctive character and the choreographic scenes they host. Each one reveals different danced characters:

La Boube stadium: a small neighbourhood sports ground where sport-related dances appear — a dance performed by the children of the ACBCL, who worked from movements drawn from the dances and sports they practise, mainly hip-hop and football.

Rue Émile Bouvier: here appear choreographic scenes by the Vertoï group, an inclusive dance company bringing together professional and amateur dancers, some of whom have intellectual or psychosocial disabilities. Their work explores connection and physical contact, bringing softness to the most urban spot on the tour.

Square de l'Abbé Borde: a small park full of nooks and corners, where dancers from the two school groups — primary and secondary — appear. Their work explores our multiple identities: danced characters whose different facets seem to be revealed by the places themselves.

Jardin Alexis Jordan: a place filled with trees, a forest within the city, which becomes a passage of witchcraft: schoolchildren and elderly residents of the local care home perform dances of witches and sorcerers.

› APAJH Le Pré Vert residence / Vertoï group: A mixed dance group of Compagnie Corps au Bord, bringing together professional and amateur dancers, half of whom have intellectual disabilities and live at the APAJH residence
